SNSI's Board of Directors has begun the process of applying for an Indiana "pet friendly" license plate! We are applying for the plate with the intention that the proceeds will go into a state-wide spay/neuter assistance fund that will work like SNSI's current Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), which subsidizes spay/neuter surgeries for low-income Indiana residents. In addition, the fund will be used to provide spay/neuter surgeries for other animal welfare organizations in Indiana. We see this fund as a way to penetrate areas that don't have low-cost alternatives, as well as a way to bolster existing spay/neuter efforts throughout the state. A specialty plate costs an additional $40, of which $25 goes to the organization. This can translate into hundreds of additional spay/neuter surgeries each year in Indiana! The license plate application will be submitted by March 31, 2010. Please watch our website or join our email list for new information as we work through this process.
